SERIES: THE ROOM

"When did I cease to exist? Why pretend to see me? I am not here. I am only my shadow, other people's shadow. I am a despair, searching for an existence. I have never been here, nor there. I am nowhere, because I am not. I don't think therefore I am not."

E.E. Black, I Would Like to Exist, 1999
SERIES: THE ROOM

"I have spoken of a difficult existence, of an immoral pain, of regrets and tears, of indifference and cold. But there is nothing. I lied to you.

I invented everything, from beginning to end. I have numbered days like we number chapters, parts of a fictional book, with characters who are coincidental, who do not even exist in real life.

I have pretended to know all these people, to have a family and to have friends, to feel emotions, I have lied to all of you."
